One of my favorite books in the past year or so:
The Reason for God, by Timothy Keller
This is great book for skeptics who have doubts about Christianity, as well as believers who want to better discuss their faith. The first part of the book deals with common doubts and questions people have about Christianity. The 2nd part of the book examines many reasons why Christianity is true and is a better and more reasonable explanation for the big questions in life than any other belief system. A very helpful book!
An oldie, but one of the best books I have ever read! Philip Yancey explores Christian grace in a way that will challenge you, perhaps upset you, but in the end will (hopefully) encourage you to live in God’s grace. God needs to use us all as believers to share God’s true grace with a pretty much grace-less world that is desperate for the hope and healing that can only truly come from a life-changing relationship with God through Jesus Christ!
When you list your favorite books, don’t forget “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership,” as well as other John Maxwell books and CDs.
Absolutely right, Don. John Maxwell’s book are excellent for anyone who is looking to lead in any aspect of life. As Maxwell says, “leadership is influence”. So all of us are leaders in some aspect of our lives, as we seek to influence others for good and the Kingdom of God!
Hi Claudia and Tom!
We love and miss you both, but we feel very connected to you through your words and messages here. You’re both such amazing witnesses, as you have always been. Your openness and responses in faith are truly inspiring, and we had a chance to read your posts together yesterday with the Avey’s, Knowlton’s and Parks’. Please know we join you in prayers for victory and encouragement in Christ. Happy Father’s Day Tom! You are part of our celebration on this day too, as you have not only dedicated both Nick and Grace, who have grown to accept Christ for themselves, but you have both lived out the relationship example for us with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
In Christ,
