I am a retired United Methodist pastor and I’m creating a website/blog to stay in touch with the many wonderful Christian folks I have come to know over the years in ministry, as well as keep in communication with the many new Christians I have come to know in our new community. I hope to share some thoughts on my blog that might help us all continue to grow, and desire to “finish well” in our faith. I’m writing primarily to those in the “Baby Boomer” generation, hoping to address relevant issues of our faith as we live to serve God. I hope people of all ages will participate as well, and I also hope to reach out to those who aren’t sure about Christianity and maybe shed some light on just what we believe, and why.
A few scriptures that remind me of our call as Christians to walk in faith until our life is over:
Philippians 1:3-6 (NIV)
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV)
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NIV)
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day–and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
Let’s run the race together, supporting each other and keeping our eyes, thoughts, & hearts fixed on Jesus!

I would have loved hearing you preach! You are an awesome writer and I relate so completely to what I’ve read in your blog. I’ve cried and I’ve felt your pain. You have experienced the things in life that I’ve always longed for but never have been blessed with. God’s Plan has not been revealed to me, except that I have great faith in Him during this phase of my life, that He will use me in accordance to His Will. He knows my heart. I trust His Wisdom, Grace and Mercy.
